From long time friend, Marilyn comes this incredible video from Vholdr.com which fortunately has allowed an embedding feature for this video. The notes below apparently are from the person sending the video to Marilyn with the description.
We’ve added a photo of the T-45 Navy jet for some perspective….unfortunately, we have been unable to learn the name of the aircraft carrier that is in the video.
The best “you are there” carrier flight-ops video I’ve ever seen. 6 min. Don’t forget to go full-screen.

For those who wonder what it is like to take a cat shot, circle around and trap aboard a carrier on a super great flying day, visit below.A few things are missing: a sweaty, stinky flight suit; vibration, radio transmissions, a filling bladder/dry throat, concern the SOS on a shingle you had for breakfast may not have been the best choice. But that’s only during your student days. After that everything is just a walk in the park (NYC’s Central Park at midnight during a storm…)

Here’s some footage taken via a helmet-mounted video camera worn by the pilot of a Navy T-45 jet trainer as it is catapulted from an aircraft carrier’s deck and then circles around to land again on the carrier. This is called “taking a lap.” This presentation is about a close as one can get to the real experience save for the acceleration and “g” loading experienced during the real experience. Hope you all enjoy this! A lap around the boat in a T-45 US Navy training jet
