First, let me get this right out there. I love my country. I love the United States of America. This is the greatest country, nation, Republic in the history of man.

I ask you, is it possible that this year, 2010, will be the beginning of the end of the Country as we know it, or a new beginning? Is it possible that either this Country will go the way of Rome, around 476AD, or, is it possible that this Country will go the way of the 13 colonies of 1776 when the subjects of the British Empire would just not take it anymore.

Is it possible, like Rome, they pretty much gave up at the end. The Roman Empire was one of the greatest Empires that the World has ever seen, but it ended in 476AD in such a fashion that it really reminds me of what’s going on today in our own Great Country, The United States of America.

Our Country was founded on principals of freedom. Freedom from taxation without representation, freedom of Religion, the RIGHT to bear Arms, among many others. In our Great Country today, I believe that all of our RIGHTS as United States Citizens are being trampled upon. First, we are being taxed into oblivion by corrupt politicians on both sides of the aisle and our Judeo/Christian belief systems are being attacked every single day in the name of Political Correctness. Nowhere, by the way, have I seen in the U.S Constitution, the RIGHT to healthcare. Hmmm. Nor, a right to a job, a house, property, etc. (That’s communism/socialism/Marxism btw) Work hard, and you’ll make it. Just like Sinatra says. Our “leaders” have forgotten that their job is to work for US! Not the other way around. They think they’re smarter than we are. They think they’re better than we are. But, they are MUCH, MUCH weaker than WE are.

Our Representatives in Washington have not truly represented the People for as long as I can remember and it’s finally catching up to us. Our “Representatives” forget that they are REPRESENTING US….the PEOPLE. Not special interests. Not special deals. Not earmarks. Not anyone except the PEOPLE of the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. But, yet, it is still business as usual. See Neb. Senator Ben Nelson’s deal for his vote on this new “healthcare reform” bill, which a majority of Americans don’t seem to want. Which by the way will destroy 1/6 of our economy, but that’s for another day!

Our current administration has taken great pains to go around the world and apologize for us. “US”, Americans. He has tried to portray “US” as just like everyone else around the world. I have a big problem with that. I thought being an American was something special. I thought being an American was exceptional. I thought, without arrogance of course, we were/are BETTER than anyone else. I thought we liked to win. I thought we liked competition, and in that competition, winning at all costs. Americans are WINNERS. NOT LOSERS. We work hard. We fight hard. We win. Simple as that.

But, all of a sudden, Washington has gotten in the way of it all. ALL of it. We are losers. WE are NOT EXCEPTIONAL anymore, according to this administration. We don’t do the right thing, even though we give more money to the entire world combined. Our Economic situation is unsustainable. Just read a real economist’s outlook. This country is cooked….bankrupt. Soon, if not already, it will really be looked upon as a complete joke.

Washington, just like London in the 1700’s, is getting in the way of American Exceptionalism. I do not know if the people of this country have the gumption or the cojones (look it up) to do what George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Paine, Sam Adams, Paul Revere, John Hancock and many others did. I can only hope, that’s all. I just hope.

We are a country of losers. Not winners. Well, to rephrase that, not enough winners. We do not have enough people that do the right thing anymore for long term sustainability. There are just way too many people that are all about the “free” ride. The Democrats/Leftists/Progressives need these people. Hence the enormous entitlement programs that this country has. Where do you think they get their votes from? That is just unsustainable. Period. Look it up from a reputable source. We have no more money, but the Government continues to push bills like Healthcare, Cap and Trade, Immigration “Reform”, among others. The Fed prints money. Something, Sometime, has to give. We are on the edge of catastrophe. That is not a Republican thing. This is not a Democrat thing. This is an American thing. (Unfortunately, the Democratic Party 2010 has been hijacked by left wing progressive nutjobs. The Democrat Party of JFK, would not EVER let any of this happen)

Btw, how did the Soviet Union end up doing?

Like I said at the beginning, I believe we are headed down 1 of 2 paths. Rome…Or 1776. Soon, it will be apparent which one the people have chosen to go down.

Our President, Barack Obama once said that he wanted to “remake America”. Well, he has done that in his first year. Is it possible that we will have a Paul Revere that will warn us again that the Redcoats are coming, and will the militias of Concord and Lexington come out again? Or, is it possible that America will go quietly into the history books of time, just like many other “Great” Nations.
