EDITORS NOTE: we visited the United Mine Workers web site and noted that there is an op ed piece from Sept 23, 2008 titled: McCain No Friend of Coal, By Cecil E. Roberts, International President, United Mine Workers of America and as most unions have, the UMW has endorsed Obama…I suppose because he supports the coal mining industry. We tried to send an email to the UMW, but the link to “contact us” mysteriously doesn’t work.
Key states like Ohio, Virginia, Colorado and Pennsylvania have many UMW members…we wonder if they are aware of the extremely negative comments made by Obama when speaking of COAL.

Imagine if John McCain had whispered somewhere that he was willing to bankrupt a major industry? Would this declaration not immediately be front page news? Well, Barack Obama actually flat out told the San Francisco Chronicle (SF Gate) that he was willing to see the coal industry go bankrupt in a January 17, 2008 interview. The result? Nothing. This audio interview has been hidden from the public…until now. It’s unbelievable that the mine workers union is so phony about supporting Obama. It makes no sense at all. In Obama’s own words he condemns the coal miners and their industry by saying that they’ll go bankrupt by regulation that he will seek to implement.
Why are you guys voting for this fake, very dangerous politician?

Yes– it’s dumbfounding– but not really (read to the end). The mine workers’ union supports a man who would bankrupt coal mining; the Jewish voters largely support a man who would play pattycake with Ahmadinejad; Catholic voters in large numbers support a man who goes beyond pro-abortion rights into pro-murder rights (see Obama’s Infant Born Alive track record). In my view it all comes down to his having been blessed with the largest and most powerful PR firm in the history of the universe– no hyperbole. The mainstream media has acted as a titanic, infinitely pervasive and persuasive ad agency for him: really, it is fully understandable in the light of this that his dark, unsavory star has risen so precipitously.
