U.S. Navy Diver 1st Class Mark Sawyer, attached to Mobile Diving and Salvage Unit 2, returns from diving in the Providence River in Rhode Island July 7, 2008, during salvage operations for the sunken former Soviet submarine Juliett 484. U.S. Navy and Army divers are joining federal, state and local agencies in a joint service operation to raise the sunken submarine, which sank 30 feet during a Nor’easter that struck the area in April 2007.
