After Reading Jonah Goldberg’s Article - I’m Now Committed To McCain

This type of ideology scares the hell out of me. My SF son, S/SGT PKM sent an article to me a few minutes ago written by Jonah Goldberg of the National Review Online with the comment:

I almost fell out of my chair when I read Obama’s prime criteria for selecting Supreme Court justices. God help us.

I immediately read the piece by Goldberg and sent return commentary to my son stating the following:

If conservatives, like me, have any doubt about voting for McCain, hearts and minds will change when reading the following statement from that article referencing appointments to the Supreme Court:

“We need somebody who’s got the heart, the empathy, to recognize what it’s like to be a young teenage mom, the empathy to understand what it’s like to be poor or African-American or gay or disabled or old — and that’s the criteria by which I’ll be selecting my judges.” - Barak Obama

Good God what a mistake if this guy gets elected. Obama is a dangerous fool, although Marxists usually are.

Barak Obama cannot be elected President of these United States with an announced immature perspective of what a Supreme Court Justice’s qualifications should be. McCain, admittedly does not meet this writer’s conservative “smell” test, but I’ll be damned if I’ll waste my vote on a third party candidate who has about as much chance of winning the Presidency as I do!

We’ve got to swallow our pride and support McCain. What choice do we have?

Talk about scary! libNOTSr and Jr contributed similar discussion on the Obama quote, posting two separate, but alike, opinions on the the Goldberg NRO piece.
