The young and the dumb strike again. While Bill Clinton was giving a speech to get more support for Hillary at Indiana University, Obama’s reps were handing out free tickets to the Dave Mathews concert that was on campus. With the free tickets in hand, the young and dumb left the line and are now “followers” of Obama.
It was an unexpected showdown of surrogates for Barack Obama and Hillary Rodham Clinton here Wednesday, and it sure looked like Obama’s representative whipped up the most excitement.
As former President Bill Clinton was extolling his wife’s credentials, Obama’s campaign office in Bloomington began giving away tickets to Sunday’s Dave Matthews concert at Assembly Hall.
Jason Schechtman, 19, Deerfield, Ill., a student at IU, got his tickets about 8 p.m. after waiting more than three hours. He met folks in line who said they’d left the Clinton rally to wait for tickets.
“I was leaning toward Obama, but this sealed the deal for sure,” he said. “The Obama campaign announced this right as (Bill Clinton) was about to speak, and it brought everyone from over there to over here.”
You just have to laugh. If that’s all it takes for someone to switch sides in this country, we are in a lot of trouble.
Here is a great comment from Jack Murphy on this article about Obama:
There has been something very disturbing about the Obama campaign: he seems to have followers instead of supporters. The distinction is an important one as messianic characters are endlessly clever in their disguises and inevitably destructive in their purpose.
The Obama schtick has not been seen for awhile in America but it is recognizable for what it is: neo Marxism that promotes collectives over individualism.
This is, of course, a clash of the American model of liberal democratic capitalism versus the failed socialist scheme.
People from the latter view depend on the shallow thinking of followers and the charisma of a Pied Piper to insinuate their agenda; thus, Obama.
That about says it all doesn’t it?
