Well, now, this is something that makes sense. Mike Huckabee wants to challenge the law that allows children that are born here to illegal immigrant parents to gain automatic United States citizenship. Huckabee wants to introduce an amendment to the Constitution that will ban birthright citizenship.
Mike Huckabee wants to amend the Constitution to prevent children born in the U.S. to illegal aliens from automatically becoming American citizens, according to his top immigration surrogate — a radical step no other major presidential candidate has embraced.
Mr. Huckabee, who won last week’s Republican Iowa caucuses, promised Minuteman Project founder James Gilchrist that he would force a test case to the Supreme Court to challenge birthright citizenship, and would push Congress to pass a 28th Amendment to the Constitution to remove any doubt.
I think that would be a huge deterrent for illegal immigrants to come to the United States. Besides of course, all of the social services ramifications that this amendment would provide. Our social services cannot keep up with the wave of illegal immigrants that have been coming into this country over the past 20 years.
Besides controlling our borders, there needs to be more law enforcement and new laws that are more in step with the times rather than centuries past. Taking away birthright citizenship to illegal immigrants would be a big first step in controlling this problem.

While I generally disagree w/Mike Huckabee, I do support this. It, unfortunately, has become a tool used for the benefit of the illegal parents.
