Al Gore invented the internet? Nope..but, he might have invented the Global Warming business

Great article in the Opinion Journal today about Al Gore and the global warming business that he pretty much created with his “global warming hoax” platform.

And like the energy barons of an earlier age, Mr. Gore has the chance to achieve enormous wealth after being named last week as a new partner at the famously successful venture capital firm Kleiner Perkins. No fewer than three of his new colleagues sit on the Forbes list of wealthiest Americans. If Mr. Gore can develop market-based solutions to environmental challenges, we will cheer the well-deserved riches flowing his way. On the other hand, if he monetizes his Nobel Peace Prize by securing permanent government subsidies for nonmarket science projects, he’ll have earned a different judgment.

Now, weren’t the “energy barons of an earlier age” vilified and portrayed as money hungry capitalists? We could never put big Al in that group now could we? A capitalist? NO way! Someone that might be benefiting off of a crazy idea and fear mongering?

These new projects and ventures that have money pouring into are called “alternative energy projects”. As a former professor at MIT puts it:

The Manhattan Institute’s Peter Huber, a former engineering professor at MIT, exaggerates only slightly when he says that “Basically, ‘alternative’ means stuff that nobody actually uses.” If that turns out to be true, then alternative energy companies could struggle for market share without government assistance.

Ah yes, there’s the phrase we have been waiting for: government assistance. That’s what big Al is up to isn’t it? These big firms are hiring him, not for his technological know how or frankly for his personality, but, for his big political connections. Why you ask? Well, government assitance is another phrase for TAX DOLLARS! Big Al wants to get all of these project funded and his “global warming” nonsense out there.

Mr. Gore seems to grasp the scale of the challenge, and the need for government help, telling Fortune magazine, “What we are going to have to put in place is a combination of the Manhattan Project, the Apollo Project and the Marshall Plan, and scale it globally.” That’s the kind of “green” vision that will require a lot of greenbacks.

But, where do you think all of the money will come from? I’ll give you one guess: Your pocket.

I’m sure at some point that we’ll only be allowed to use one square of toilet paper or else we’ll have the global warming police all over us!

Clinton supporters think that Clinton was responsible for the great economy as a result of the tech boom. Little is it mentioned that San Jose and the Sillicone Valley were business friendly environments by an influential university called Stanford which created a fertile breeding grounds for business.

This was made possible by... um. *those* people. I mean Republicans. Let's not forget the forever studying geeks obtaining their Ph Ds who eventually highly paid engineers and techies that slaved away in startups for 16 hours a day. This is Adam Smith's Capitalism performing miracles.

If I recall correctly, Al Gore was just busy taking credit for this. If he gets his way by supporting socialism, these types of opportunities will exist in China and India because nobody wants to pay to be here. Especially if they're from China or India.

Sure socialism is a lot easier. But we'd all be broke and completely dependant on the government to suffice our bread and butter until the government couldn't afford our steaks anymore. I mean, Japan can do it. But unlike our liberals, the Japanese have a kamakazi work ethic imprinted deeply into their culture that makes it all possible.

Here is Gore inventing a market for himself by trying to convince us that we need him. Clever business man, terrible politician.
