Ahmadinejad: “We have now reached 3,000 machines”
November 7, 2007
Iran has reached 3,000 centrifuges for their nuclear program. What this means is that they will now be able to make enough enriched uranium to produce a nuclear weapon within one year. This was a key step in their nuclear program. The clock is now clicking on Iran. Ahmadinejad, as usual, could care less what anyone thinks about Iran’s nuclear ambitions.
Speaking at the rally, Ahmadinejad vowed that Iran would continue ignoring Security Council resolutions which have imposed two sets of sanctions on Tehran for its failure to heed ultimatums to suspend enrichment.
“Some people say implement the resolutions but we say the resolutions are based on a wrong report,” he said.
“They should know that the Iranian nation could not care less about the sanctions,” Ahmadinejad said, adding that the Iranian people “will not retreat an iota from any of their rights, especially nuclear rights.”
As we all know, President Bush has repeatedly stated that Iran cannot be allowed to be able to produce nuclear weapons. This will ratchet up the rhetoric between the United States and Iran in the coming months.
But, know this: President Bush will not leave office in 2008 with the Iranian nuclear issue still on the table. President Bush will do what he has to in order to protect the United States and he does not care about what the Democrats have to say on this issue.
Which is why I believe history will look more kindly on President Bush than most people think.
