Irving Texas reports arrested illegal immigrants to ICE

I hope that the politicians are listening. Here is ANOTHER reason why most of the politicians in Washington have no clue about this illegal immigration problem. They try to pass laws, sneak new laws into war spending bills, and embrace everything about the illegal immigrants that are residing in this country already. Well, here is more proof on what the people really want.

Last year, the city of Irving, Texas started turning over illegal immigrants that were arrested within the city, to Immigration and Customs Enforcement, otherwise known as I.C.E.

Irving police last year began using what’s called the 24/7 Criminal Alien Program. It provides for around-the-clock communication with federal authorities and is designed to detain illegal immigrants who have been accused of a crime. It’s the latest tool being used by local governments in the absence of a federal overhaul of immigration laws. So far, Irving police have turned over more than 1,600 people to immigration officials.

Mayor Herbert Gears estimates that about 300 people in Irving are being turned over each month – more than in any other city in the nation. He said city officials are obligated to uphold the law and will continue to use the program, which is available to any city that wishes to participate.

Irving started this because the Federal government has shown zero leadership on this issue. This issue obviously resonates with Americans, but, Congress refuses to see it as a big problem. They would rather give illegals more help and more services rather than taking away services, which would in turn, force the illegals to go back to their home countries.

In the absence of Federal leadership, Irving has started a great program! If an illegal is arrested, he is turned over to ICE. Sounds pretty logical to me. But, there was a big rally last week and illegal immigrant activists were urging people to call the Irving city hall and complain about this policy. Well, people did call. But, they did not complain about the policy. They people APPLAUDED the policy.

They were prompted by activists who implored a crowd of more than 1,000 people at a rally Wednesday night to call for an end to a program that turns over arrested illegal immigrants to Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

But most callers weren’t asking for an end to the program – they were voicing their support.

“It was ringing over and over, and by far, the biggest percent was in favor,” City Secretary Janice Carroll said Thursday afternoon.

Are you listening Washington? I doubt it. They all live on Pluto and have no idea what goes on in real people’s lives.

    where on the internet can i look for an illegal immigrant who has been missing now for about 2 months. He was said to be crossing illegally in Texas by san isidro. he was supposedly abandoned. I don’t know where else my friend can look for her brother.
