We all remember that warm September morning 6 years ago. I remember getting up for work a little late that morning and I was running around, as usual. The phone rang and my sister was on the phone. She said, turn on the television quick. I did, just in time to watch the second plane hit. To say that it felt like getting punched in the stomach is the understatement of my life. I watched as both buildings were now burning. I brought myself out of it and called my office. They were watching the same thing. I had to go to work as there were people there that had to leave because they had loved ones working in the city that morning.

I got to work, and everyone was walking around stunned. I went into the computer room, where they had Howard Stern on the radio, who was actually awesome that day. He had people all over the place reporting in. We went down to where they had televisions and watched everything from there. The horror of everything. People who had relatives working in the city that day were running around the building crying. No one could reach anyone. The cell towers were all jammed. Which, of course, made everything worse.

The day went on and everything was getting worse. The Pentagon. The field in Pennsylvania. The Towers falling. The crazy rumors that there were more planes and bombs. The President’s face when being told.

Then you start hearing the numbers. The numbers of possible dead in the city. Speechless. The Police. The Fire Department. The Port Authority Officers. The hijacked passengers on the planes. We could see and smell the smoke from home.

Our world, our Country, our lives, will never be the same after that day.

Remember. The victims of 9/11 were just going to work that day. That’s all. That’s all.

What do you remember that day?

NEVER FORGET….EVER.
