Tom Tancredo on Illegal Immigration, Sanctuary Cities and the Newark Murders
August 20, 2007
Great interview with Rep. Tom Tancredo (R-CO) concerning US sanctuary cities and illegal immigration. Mr. Tancredo has been at the forefront of the entire illegal immigration debate from the very beginning, essentially imploring the Federal Government to do SOMETHING, as in, DO YOUR JOB! As we all know, the Feds are not enforcing the laws that are on the books, let alone making new laws to improve border security. The executions of the three college kids in Newark, NJ a few weeks ago has reinforced the need for some kind of enforcement of these laws.
However, Newark is a sanctuary city for illegal immigrants. The main dirt-bag in the Newark case is an illegal immigrant who was arrested several times in the past year, including once for the rape of a 5 year old, occurring numerous times! The problem with a sanctuary city is that the city does not allow their law enforcement to contact I.C.E, customs, or any other immigration authorities. So, when an individual like this Newark animal commits a crime, he is then released into society like a normal U.S citizen. What SHOULD happen is the city should contact immigration and tell them they locked this guy up. Then, he would be automatically held and then deported once his sentence was up.
Here is the great interview with Neil Cavuto:
