Unrest grows amid gas rationing in Iran

June 29, 2007

TEHRAN: Unrest spread in Tehran on Thursday, the second day of gasoline rationing in oil-rich Iran, with drivers lining up for miles, gas stations being set on fire and state-run banks and business centers coming under attack.

Ahmadinejad and rest of the Iranian hierarchy are in trouble with the average citizen. The police are angry that no one warned them of the impending fuel rationing resulting in violence and unrest….and despite warnings by the government not to print or report negative stories about the gasoline shortages….they have! Sanctions are finally working.

China….Exporter of Danger?

June 28, 2007

LibNOT.com is concerned about all of the fairly recent news regarding poisoned dog and then reports that toothpaste imported here had a dangerous chemical mixed in. Today we learn that farm raised catfish, shrimp and other seafood has been “detained” by the FDA for contamination.

Chinese authorities have been less than co-operative in the past, so let’s hope they start with a fresh slate.

Yeah, sure!

Immigration Bill All But Defeated!

June 28, 2007

The Senate finally listened to the American People. LibNOT.com was truly concerned that the non-listening, self-centered members of the Senate would vote in favor of the worst bill to come down the pike in years.

See the list below of those Republicans that voted in favor of cloture, which would have resulted in the (likely) eventual passing of the Immigration Bill:

Bennett (R-UT)
Craig (R-ID)
Graham (R-SC)
Gregg (R-NH)
Hagel (R-NE)
Kyl (R-AZ)
Lott (R-MS)
Lugar (R-IN)
Martinez (R-FL)
McCain (R-AZ) You’re a good man Senator, but your campaign is over!
Snowe (R-ME)
Specter (R-PA)

Mr. President - there’s a message here that is unmistakable.

Quote of today: Arlen Spector (R - rino) regarding the Immigration Bill

June 28, 2007

`We are in trench warfare and it’s going to be rough,” said Pennsylvania Republican Arlen Specter, a chief sponsor of the legislation. “But we are going to see the will of the Senate work one way or another.”

The last sentence in the quote above seems to describe what we all know about the elected members of the Senate and Congress - - - - power, arrogance and an indifference to the will of the PEOPLE! Various elected officials are starting to get weak-knees and it seems that they’re getting that squishy feeling in the pit of their stomachs, since that soon to be Federally controlled talk radio is having a definite effect on the out-come of the Immigration Bill.

Does anyone have any doubt as to why the poll ratings of both Houses are lower than the President?

Lurch and the Fairness Doctrine??!!

June 27, 2007

These people (mostly Democrats and some Republicans, including Trent Lott) are out of their minds! Now Sen. Kerry wants to bring back the “fairness doctrine” because Conservatives have “squeezed down and squeeze out opinion of opposing views”. HAHA…it’s called “market-driven,” which of course means no one wants to listen to their “liberal trite” on the radio, as Sen. James Inhofe likes to say. Just look at Air America. IT FLOPPED! NO LISTENERS! BORING CONTENT! What does that tell you?? I thought we lived in a free society? Now they want to stifle opposing opinions just because they don’t like what is said about them?? Give me a break!!
